Although the Asba reputation for quality and innovation was based on their drums and percussion, the Caroline bass drum pedal was one of the most famous percussion products of the 1970s.
Named after a member of the family, the Caroline pedal was way ahead of it's time and was used by drummers throughout the world including Mitch Mitchell and J.R.Robinson. Bob Henrit reported that he "once saw one in the offices of a Chicago-based drum manufacturer who claimed he was studying it with a view to improvement. Interesting this, since the company already made the world's most revered pedal."
