CHRISTIAN RAQUIN

Christian Raquin is based in Ottawa, Canada and plays a black be-bop Asba kit with an added tom. Christian studied with Kenny Clarke in Paris and has played in a variety of international settings.

Christian acquired the kit from Daniel Humair in 1970 - the drums themselves are from 1964. The kit has an 18 x 14 bass drum, 12 and 13 mounted toms and a 14 x 14 floor tom. The snare is 14 x 5 and Christian uses the original Caroline bass pedal and the Daniel Humair model hi-hat. The floor tom originally had a foot-pedal operated a tuning mechanism though Christian has removed this for playing.
