The unavoidable legend of Jazz!

Joseph Morello, known as Joe Morello, born July 17, 1928 in Springfield (Massachusetts), and died March 12, 2011 in Irvington (New Jersey), is an American jazz drummer and music teacher, known for playing for nearly 10 years in the Dave Brubeck Quartet.

A key figure in the history of drumming in jazz, he was particularly noted for his playing in pieces with original metrics, such as Take Five and Blue Rondo à la Turk.
