William Emanuel Cobham Jr. known as Billy, was born on May 16, 1944 in Panama City. He is a Panamanian jazz drummer and composer. Famous for his jazz fusion in the 1970s, with the Mahavishnu Orchestra, he set up a drumming style influenced by rock and funk. Billy Cobham has played with jazzmen such as Horace Silver and Joe Henderson.
